Marla, Kanal & Square Feet Converter (Pakistan)
Convert plot sizes between marla, kanal, acre, square feet, square yards and square metres. A marla is not the same everywhere in Pakistan, so first choose which marla your document or society uses.
Common plot sizes
| Plot | 225 sq ft marla | 250 sq ft marla | 272.25 sq ft marla |
|---|
Typical frontage × depth for a 225 sq ft marla: 5 marla ≈ 25 × 45 ft, 10 marla ≈ 35 × 65 ft, 1 kanal ≈ 50 × 90 ft. Always confirm the exact area from the allotment letter or fard.
Which marla does my plot use?
- 272.25 sq ft: the traditional revenue marla used in land records (fard, jamabandi, inteqal) and most agricultural land. 1 kanal = 5,445 sq ft and 1 acre = 43,560 sq ft.
- 225 sq ft: used by LDA, DHA, CDA and most planned housing schemes. 1 kanal = 4,500 sq ft.
- 250 sq ft: used by Bahria Town and some private societies. 1 kanal = 5,000 sq ft.
So a “5 marla” house can be 1,125, 1,250 or 1,361 sq ft depending on where it is. Always compare prices per square foot, not per marla. Read more: Marla size in Pakistan explained.
